Why RingCentral customers move to Quo

testimonial photo
Brent Holweg

Founder, Supersonic Sites

"I suffered all sorts of headaches for over 15 years using RingCentral, Grasshopper, and other VoIP providers. I am beyond amazed at the quality and service provided by Quo. I couldn't recommend Quo more — which is why my clients are also switching over to Quo.”
Sean Williams

Managing Director, Nymble Insurance

"Quo is extremely easy to use. We have a 6 person office routing calls to two companies and the combination of simplicity and features are incredible. Having started with DYL (terrible system and worse service), moving to Ring Central (feature-rich but complicated and poor support), TalkRoute (great value but no features) I've finally found the unicorn phone system that does everything at a great price."

Bob Richey

Owner, Party Magic Entertainment

"I switched from RingCentral to Quo for way better pricing, way better customer service, and a phone system that is always improving its functionality to better serve its customers."

Why Quo is the #1 alternative to RingCentral

Hundreds of teams have moved from RingCentral to Quo. Here are a few reasons why:

Call and text customers without limits

Send as many texts as you need

RingCentral's base plan only offers 25 texts per user per month. Quo provides unlimited texting to the US and Canada.

Call worry-free with Quo

RingCentral caps toll-free calls at 100 minutes. With Quo, you get unlimited toll-free calls.

A shared text inbox for your whole team
RingCentral only lets one rep text from a number unless you pay $25 per user per month for its SMS Booster add-on.

With Quo, your team can call and text from the same number  — no add-ons needed.

Store and access customer interactions at any time

No file storage limits

RingCentral deletes text message history once you hit storage limits. If you want control over what gets removed, you have to go in and delete conversations yourself. Miss something? It’s gone.

Upgrading gives you more storage. But retention periods still apply. Call recordings, for example, are still deleted after 90 days.

With Quo, messages, call recordings, call summaries, and other files don’t expire.

Save time reviewing customer conversations

Get a unified view of all your communications

Quo lets you view your customer calls, texts, recordings, and more, in one place.

RingCentral siloes all these interactions, making it harder for your team to get essential context.

Get help when you need it

Don’t wait weeks for text registration support

RingCentral customer support can be hard to reach when you need help.

One RingCentral user said it was difficult to get in touch with a live support representative during the TCR registration process.

Quo makes TCR registration easier with an in-app registration process that guides you through each step. Most businesses can start texting in 5-7 business days.

How do Quo and RingCentral compare on price?

Quo is a more scalable and flexible option compared to RingCentral. Quo starts at $15 per user per month, while RingCentral’s pricing starts at $20 per user per month.

Additionally, RingCentral has limits on toll-free calling minutes, business SMS and MMS, and file storage, in its base plan. For example:

  • Texting is capped at 25 messages per user per month on their base plan
  • Toll-free calls are limited to 100 pooled minutes on their base plan
  • Shared texting requires a Business SMS Booster add-on at $25 per user per month
  • AI receptionist is an additional $39 per month

In contrast, Quo includes unlimited texting to the US and Canada, toll-free calls, texting automations, and shared inboxes on every plan, so your team can keep using them as you grow.

Does Quo have fixed annual contracts?

Quo has both monthly and annual plans available to customers.

How quickly can I send texts with Quo?

You can send texts with Quo in 2-5 business days. You’ll need to register your business number for A2P 10DLC compliance before you can get started sending texts.

A2P 10DLC registration is a requirement pushed for by the large US cell carriers in order to text local US numbers. To make that happen, they worked with the FCC to create The Campaign Registry, or TCR, a third-party organization that reviews your application.

Is Quo better than RingCentral for all businesses?

Quo is better than RingCentral for most small and medium businesses. It’s a strong fit for remote teams. It also works well for businesses like home services, real estate, and recruiting, where your team isn’t always at a desk. However, there are a few scenarios where RingCentral may be a better option.

Large enterprises that need robust admin settings and multi-site or multi-workspace management capabilities are currently better off going with RingCentral.

Large call centers that need desk phones should go with RingCentral since Quo doesn’t offer traditional desk phones to businesses.

Can my whole team text from the same business number?

Quo’s shared numbers let your whole team send and receive texts from the same phone number. RingCentral limits texting to one user per number unless you pay for its Business SMS Booster add-on.

Is Quo secure and reliable?

Yes, Quo is secure. It is built with business-grade security, such as:

  • Data encryption: Your data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+ and at rest using AES-256 encryption. This means your customer conversations stay private
  • SOC 2 Type II certified: Independent auditors verify our security controls continuously.
  • Reliable uptime: We maintain 99.999% uptime.

Keep in mind you don’t have to pay extra to get these protections with Quo.

However, Google Voice for business doesn’t include that same level of protection on its own. For example, SOC 2 Type II certification is only available with Google Workspace. So if you need third-party-audited security controls, be prepared to pay for two subscriptions.
